Pitts S 12

Pitts S 12

The legend is alive. ~ A myth since more than 60 years. In 1945 the legendary S-1 took off for her maiden flight. With this small sizes but powerful motorised biplane Curtis Pitts opened a new chapter of aerobatics. Today the Pitts still epitomises the fascination and passion of aerobatics which appeals pilots from arround the world, and which makes an aircraft a living legend. The S-12 is the derivative of the S-1 into a modern aerobatic airplane without missing the characteristic appearance of the classic Pitts. Our S-12 is coming in 27 % scale and measures a wingspan of 1,63 m. We have chosen this size as it provides a number of advantages: The biplane can operate without installation of incommodious steel wires between the wings, so the set up at the airfield is quickly done. Furthermore it can be equipped with engines and R/C equipment on moderate cost level. Nevertheless the S-12 is large enough to fly professional aerobatics. The Pitts S-12 – designed for the passion of flying.
